சித்தார்த் சண்முகம்

Siddaarth Shanmugam is a passionate Tamil language advocate, writer, and teacher residing in Santa Clara, California. He wears two hats with expertise in both the artistic and technical realms. By day, he is a software engineer at Google, but his true passion lies in the rich tapestry of human languages, particularly his native Tamil.

As an Author

Siddaarth's love for Tamil began at a young age, blossoming into poetry writing at just 14. Over the years, he has become a master of classical Tamil poetic meters, some dating back two millennia. His book, Elimaiyaai Paakkal Ezhudhalaam (The Complete Grammar of Traditional Tamil Poetry), reflects his deep understanding of this ancient art form.

Beyond the technical aspects of language, Siddaarth is also a gifted writer. His collection of poems, Nenjaththaimbadhu (The fifty from the Heart), delves into the depths of human emotions, offering a glimpse into the beauty of the Tamil language's expressive power.

As a Teacher

Siddaarth's fluency in English and proficiency in Kannada, Sanskrit, and French showcase his lifelong fascination with languages. He believes that languages are powerful bridges between cultures, fostering communication, creativity, and understanding. His hope is to continue utilizing his skills to promote cross-cultural harmony.

Siddaarth's dedication extends beyond personal expression. He is a dedicated educator, fostering a love for Tamil in students of all ages. For the past three years, he has been a pillar of the California Tamil Academy, nurturing the Tamil language and heritage in American children of Tamil descent. Since 2020, he has also been actively teaching his knowledge of Tamil grammar through online platforms.

சித்தார்த் சண்முகம், கலிபோர்னியாவின் சாண்டா கிளாராவில் வசிக்கும் தமிழ் மொழி ஆர்வலரும் எழுத்தாளரும் ஆசிரியரும் ஆவார். இவர் சிலிக்கான்  பள்ளத்தாக்கில் மென்பொருட் பொறியாளராகப் பணியாற்றி வருகிறார். 

எழுத்தாளராக 

இவரது  தமிழ்க் காதல் இளம் வயதில் தொடங்கியது. 14 வயதிலிருந்து  மரபுப்பாக்கள் எழுதி  வருகிறார்.  எளிமையாய்ப் பாக்கள் எழுதலாம் என்ற நூல் (முழுமையான யாப்பு  இலக்கணம்), இவரது ஆழமான மொழி அறிவையும், தமிழ் இலக்கணத்தின் முழுமையான புரிதலையும் காட்டுகிறது.

சித்தார்த் ஒரு திறமையான எழுத்தாளர். அவரது பாடல் தொகுப்பான நெஞ்சத்தைம்பது, தமிழ் மொழியில் எழுதும் பாடல்களின் அழகையும், உணர்வுகளின் ஆழத்தையும்  சிறப்பாகக் காட்டுகிறது.

ஆசிரியராக

சித்தார்த்  ஒரு ஈடுபாடுமிக்க ஆசிரியர் ஆவார். அயலகத் தமிழருக்கும், அவர்தம் குழந்தைகளுக்கும் பல ஆண்டுகளாகத் தமிழ் கற்பித்து  வருகிறார். கடந்த மூன்று ஆண்டுகளாக, கலிபோர்னியா தமிழ் அகாதமியில் தன்னார்வ ஆசிரியராக வாரஇறுதிகளில் பணியாற்றி வருகிறார்.  இதன்மூலம், அமெரிக்காவில் வாழும் அயலகத் தமிழர் தம் குழந்தைகளிடம், தமிழ் மொழியையும் பண்பாட்டையும் கற்பிக்கிறார். 2020ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் உலகத் தமிழர் அனைவரும் பயன் பெறும் வகையில், இவர் இணையவழித் தமிழ் இலக்கண வகுப்புகளை நடத்தி வருகிறார்.
